The transport of assistance and guide dogs is done free of charge. When accepted on board, your dog must meet the following conditions:
- The dog must be notified in advance, preferably at the time of booking, but no later than 48 hours before departure.
- When booking your trip, provide the animal breed, dimensions, weight and the service provided.
- You must prove the animal qualification (e.g. certificate, ID card, etc.). Trained dogs that do not accompany a disabled passenger will not be accepted in the cabin.
- You cannot travel with more than 1 (one) dog.
- If you travel with an assistance/guide dog, you cannot bring a pet.
- A dog that shows visible signs of distress cannot be accepted in the cabin.
- Your dog must not be of a forbidden breed. You may check the list here.
- You must carry a muzzle, in case the dog becomes restless during flight (e.g. barking, threading, etc.). It must be clean, healthy, harmless, odorless. It must comply with all sanitary/hygiene requirements of the departure, arrival and connection countries.
- It must wear a harness or vest. You must provide a suitable restraint harness to secure and restrain the dog during taxi, take-off, landing and turbulence. In cruise, it is acceptable for the dog to be subject to less restraint. The extension of the dog’s leash or harness must be attached to your seatbelt throughout the entire flight.
- It shall not be allowed to move around the cabin and cannot obstruct the aisle.
- It shall not occupy a seat. The dog must be seated at your feet and occupy strictly the space allocated to you. You will be provided with a seat with the most space available. For safety reasons, you cannot be seated on an emergency exit row or on a row immediately in front or behind an emergency exit row.
Emotional support or psychiatric service dogs are not allowed on TAROM flights.
