Most people want to be always connected to information, regardless of time and place. Based on a survey carried out among passengers, from which it arises that the internet is the most wanted service during flight, TAROM, in partnership with dnata, takes a step in this direction introducing AirFi, the world’s smallest mobile entertainment system on board the aircraft.
Having the approximate size of a shoe box and weighing 1.2 kilograms, two AirFi devices can cover the capacity of an aircraft with 180 seats, while four devices can satisfy the connectivity need of 280 passengers.
The connection to the AirFi system is made directly from the browser of the mobile device, t is not necessary to install any application. Also, the interface is scalable to any resolution or size of the mobile device screen (telephone, tablet or laptop).
The AirFi platform offers to the passengers a wide range of options: store, chat with other passengers, games, information about travel destinations, magazines, newspapers, news – as newsfeed, moves and music.
Moreover, the platform also includes a feedback form about TAROM services, which will lead to the increase of the passenger needs satisfaction and an improvement of the relation with the customers.
The autonomy of the AirFi console is up to 14 hours. With each landing, the contents of the AirFi box is updated, so that passengers are always up to date with the latest news.

“The need of information, mobility and permanent connectivity determined us to launch a service by which the passengers have the possibility to find out the latest information, to watch the favourite movie or to find out all data about the travel and the final destination.”
